Mission

Under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care; ORNGE EFRT Program, the Fort William First Nation First Response Team responds to medical emergencies within the community where an ambulance is requested. Our first responders are trai

ned to the “Emergency First Response/BLS” standards that are set forth by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care; Emergency Health Program Management and Delivery Branch.

which includes life-saving interventions and other designated medical acts and assessments.
The first response team provides other essential services in the community such as:

  • Act as a liaison with regards to medical first response between Superior North EMS and Fort William First Nation
  • Host Standard First Aid – CPR Level “C” certification courses,
  • Host babysitting courses for youths in the community (Beginning Winter 2023/2024)
