Our Mission:

We create financial sustainability and independence, contributing to a better way of life for our members.

Vision:

Improve the financial sustainability of our operations by becoming less reliant on external funding, and gain independence by capitalizing on economic opportunities
Become the ‘preferred’ economic partner by developing appropriate plans, infrastructure, and incentives, and simplifying the process of partnering with the First Nation
Actively seek out partnerships and investments that diversify the financial operations of the First Nation and will fulfill the strategic direction in economic development we have set
Engage the First Nation’s individual and business members to create a better-informed nation on the subject of economic development and increase participation in our economic development activities
Continue to promote and develop opportunities for our members to obtain career training and quality employment

Key Strategies for the Economic Development Department to Realize Its Vision:

Eight (8) strategies have been identified that will guide Fort William First Nation economic development programming, activities, and operations through to the year 2019, and beyond. These strategies will assist FWFN to keep focused on priorities that will allow Fort William to best realize the Vision.
