Education Program bookings are available September to November, and January to June.

Field Trips in a Conservation Area: visit our “Living Classrooms”!

$165.00 flat rate for a 2-hour program (+$5.00 per participant for groups over 30 participants)

Take Them Outside!

Through guided hikes, games, challenges, and times of free exploration, students can apply content learned in class to the living world, connect with their local watershed, and develop a sense of their place in it.

Please Note:

Our Education department is one person!  Your class will have the best learning experience if the number of students at a program is less than 30.

However, we understand that bus sharing is a cost-efficient way to bring out-of-classroom learning to more students, so if you are interested in registering more than one class for a program, we can see if another LRCA team member is available to lend a hand, or if not, make arrangements with you for the class teachers to run parts of the program.

School Visits

We bring the program to you!

$165.00 flat rate for a 1.5-hour program

Many of our programs can be presented right in your classroom, school yard or nearby city park! Save the bussing costs, and have us come to you.

With interactive presentations showcasing our local environment, and opportunities for hands-on experiential learning, get ready for some fun!

Please note:  in-class programs are intended for one class only, to allow for hands on learning. We would be happy to offer the same program to multiple classes in your school, each at a different time on the same day!

Virtual Programs

$50.00** flat rate fee for a pre-recorded 30-minute program; $70.00 flat rate fee for a 60-minute live program;  Cost of materials, if needed, is extra.

The LRCA still offers pre-recorded or livestreamed Virtual Field Trips. Are you teaching habitats or ecosystems?  Bring your class along on an exploration of Hazelwood Lake, find dragonflies and waterstriders, check out wildlife tracks in the mud, right from your classroom!

Is your class curious about owls?  Join us on a virtual Owl Prowl!
