For over 20 years, three generations have enjoyed the quiet, awesome lake that have made many unforgettable memories. We have never been disappointed in any trip. Looking forward to our trip Memorial Day weekend this year.

I’ve traveled all over with my two boys, but the most fun we’ve ever had together is at Mahkwa Lodge!!!

We LOVE Mahkwa Lodge! My two brothers and I have made several trips up to Mahkwa in the past and it is our favorite place to fish walleyes. Last year we ran a clicker for the fun of it and we caught 636 walleyes in 3 days. We have two more trips up there planned in 2025. The resort is first rate and the people at Mahkwa have been great to work with. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.

The highlight of our Mahkwa fishing trip is always the shore lunch. No mater if the fishing is good or bad. The comradery of a nine man group cooking over a wood fire and eating fresh fish is what I think is the highlight of every trip. Can’t wait to get back and do it again this year. It will be our groups 30th year at Mahkwa.

It is very challenging to choose 1 picture from all of our great trips to Mahkwa Lodge over the period of 2005 to 2013. We have so many great pike and walleye pictures including Adam with our family best 46 inch pike. However I chose this group picture from 2008. Adam and I started coming to Mahkwa in 2005. A couple of years later my younger son Ben joined us, but in 2008 we introduced 4 friends to Lac Seul fishing and all staying at Mahkwa. So, here is the group picture of us at the Mahkwa sign. Fishing pictures make for great memories, but the camaraderie of sharing the incredible Mahkwa experience with a group is pretty special.
Thank you

This was the first year at Mahkwa for Silas. Our group has been going for 30+ years and he was the youngest to ever make the trip last year at age 8. He caught the biggest fish in our boat, 25″, and was proud to wear his Canada hat given to him by our Canadian friend Sully. He loved it and is looking forward to coming back this year! Great idea to do this, see you this summer!

We the Willson family had a great time up there at Mahkwa, the food and service was great as always, the house keeping service was excellent and the dock/bait store service was fantastic too. And the fishing was awesome! Definitely a great trip. Already looking forward to next summer!

In August we spent a week at Mahkwa Lodge. The walleye fishing was spectacular in both size and quantity. There was also an abundance of pike caught and huge small mouth bass. There were always bald eagles perched in the trees on the beautiful landscape keeping a close on on everything! The staff were laid back, courteous and very welcoming. We will definitely be making another trip to Mahkwa Lodge in the near future! Thanks Mahkwa Lodge!

Thank you for the wonderful stay this summer at your lodge on beautiful Lac Seul. The BioEnergy research team (from Lakehead University and Confederation College) needed a place to stay and a central location to to travel the surrounding forest and communities to undertake our Renewable Energy research project and Mahkwa certainly fit the bill. The accommodations were spacious and clean every day and the food was fantastic. As researchers we are used to a variety of lodgings, everything from a campsite to motels and varying quality as well. We were very impressed with the quality of service and the prices were more than fair.

My wife and I have been coming to Mahkwa for the past 10 years. Our experiences have always been wonderful. In addition to the excellent fishing our accommodations at the lodge are great. We have always chosen the Modified-American Plan (your own boat). Docking facilities are great, friendly service always and outstanding food have been their trademarks. We would recommend Mahkwa Lodge to anyone.

We have been coming to Mahkwa for approximately 8 years and could not be more thrilled with our experience. The staff has always been very accommodating, and the fishing is the best that we have ever had in Ontario. We have fished other locations on Lac Seul, and the quantity and size of fish simply do not measure up with what we see in the areas around Mahkwa. We are looking forward to many more years of fantastic fishing at Mahkwa Lodge!

2018 marked our 10th year at Mahkwa Lodge, and we’ve never been disappointed with our fishing experience! The quality of fish and the number of fish caught by our groups have been outstanding. On an average day, with 3 people to a boat, we’ve caught an average of 50-60 fish per day. The locations we fish are just a short distance from the lodge—30-45 minutes, so no time lost traveling and plenty of time gained fishing. The cabins, even under the housekeeping plan, are comfortable and conveniently located to the fish cleaning station, and docks. If you are looking for a great fishing experience, Mahkwa Lodge should be your first choice!

Guests for many years, we love Mahkwa Lodge as it is located perfectly for fisherman of all interests. We go to Granite island and fish walleyes for shore lunch and then double back near camp for a full day of Northern fishing. Our recent “best” year, we boasted 10 over 40″, the largest at 45″, all within 10 minutes from camp. Staff and food are great, cabins clean, and proximity to Vaughn Lake makes Mahkwa a premier resort at very reasonable rates.
