Ombudsperson Office
A Safe Place to Be Heard
In the new health system, everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and treated fairly. The Ombudsperson Office is here to make sure that happens.
This office is independent. That means it does not report to any service provider or government body. Its only job is to protect the rights of NAN community members and make sure the health system works the way it should — for everyone.
What Does the Ombudsperson Do?
- Listens to complaints and concerns about health services
- Investigates problems like racism, mistreatment, or poor-quality care
- Recommends solutions to improve services and accountability
- Reports openly to the Health Finance & Administration Body and to NAN communities
- Works with health regulators to ensure high standards of professional care
Why It Matters
Too many of our people have been ignored or mistreated by the health system. The Ombudsperson Office gives our communities a place to speak up — and see real change happen.
It is not about punishment. It is about making things better.
Built on Trust and Accountability
This is a new kind of system. One where your voice matters, your concerns are taken seriously, and there is a clear path to fixing what is not working.
We are building a system where people are not just patients — they are partners. And partners deserve to be heard.
