Frequently Asked Questions:
New and existing clients located in Ontario (and possibly other provinces, depending on licensing) can book virtual services. We welcome clients seeking psychotherapy or neuropsychological assessment via remote means.
- Ensure you are in a private, quiet location where you will not be interrupted.
- Use a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with a camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.
- Close other applications to reduce distractions and optimize bandwidth.
- Have headphones available if you prefer more privacy or better audio clarity.
- Log in a few minutes early to check your connection and platform access.
Please refer to our pricing page or contact us directly for details on virtual session fees. Payments are typically processed prior to or immediately after your session via secure online payment. Insurances or employee benefits may cover virtual services—check your policy.
We understand that things come up. If you are unable to keep the scheduled appointment, please reschedule at least 2 business days in advance. Sessions cancelled with less than 2 business days’ notice will be subject to a cancellation fee of $50, which will be invoiced directly to you.
Your first virtual session typically includes:
- A welcome and orientation to how the online process works.
- A review of your presenting concerns and goals.
- Discussion of confidentiality, platform use, and next steps.
- Together, we’ll decide on the best frequency and format for follow-up sessions.
Virtual services are suitable for many people—but they may not be optimal for all clinical situations. During your intake or first session, we’ll assess whether virtual sessions meet your needs or whether an in-person format (or hybrid) might be better.
Many insurance plans and employee benefits packages recognize and reimburse virtual psychotherapy and assessments. It’s best to check with your provider or plan administrator to confirm virtual services are included. We can provide the necessary service codes and receipts.
Because of regulatory/licensing requirements, virtual services are primarily offered to clients located in Ontario (or provinces where we are licensed). If you are outside our service area, please contact us to discuss whether services may be available or we may be able to refer you to a suitable provider.
Absolutely. All client information is handled in accordance with Canadian privacy laws (including PHIPA/PIPEDA) and our professional regulatory standards. The video platform is encrypted, and our records are securely stored.
