Welcome To

Sullivan + Associates

Our passion for helping others inspired us to open a small private practice in 2007With only a small yellow page ad + positive word-of-mouth, our little practice quickly grew, requiring us to relocate to a more prominent office building within a year. Since that time, we have remained committed to Our Values, our passion for excellence + desire to help people with a warm, down to earth style.

Today, we are proud to serve the community of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario with 44 team members who are committed to providing an exceptional client experienceTen years later, we have achieved our dream of creating a full-service psychology clinic to help Children, Teens and Adults to Live The Lives They Deserve.

Psychotherapy/Counselling

  • Evidence-Based
  • Goal-Oriented
  • Collaborative
  • Efficient

In Canada, 1 in 5 people will experience a challenge with a mental health issue. Psychotherapy/counselling is often an effective way to address challenging life circumstances and make essential changes to improve quality of life. At Sullivan + Associates, we believe that effective treatment, whether it be for children, teens or adults, should be goal-oriented, collaborative, skills-based and time-limited.

Quick First Appointment

The ability to access service quickly can be critically important. Studies show that when individuals have a mental health issue that needs to be addressed, waiting for treatment results in negative consequences (i.e., the problem gets worse). At Sullivan + Associates, we always strive to book clients as quickly as possible and maintain a consistent appointment schedule afterwards. Due to a recent surge in client demand, we have experienced difficulty meeting this standard; however, we are hopeful that the addition of five new Clinicians will help our clients book appointments quickly, as we strive to meet public demand in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.

Health Benefits + Other Coverage

At Sullivan + Associates, we are aware of the significant demand and cost associated with mental health services. At present, the Canadian government spends $51 billion per year on mental health funding; yet, assessment and psychotherapy/counselling services continue to be underfunded and long wait lists persist. We recognize that cost can be a barrier to accessing service and we do our best to help educate the public about the different funding sources that are available for coverage.
