The Simplest Way to Improve Attention And Focus

No cutting edge stuff here.  No new innovations.   It’s simple!  Just take 1 week off from social media (and yes, we get the fun irony that we are posting this on social media!).

Researchers at the Happiness Research Institute tested 1095 regular Facebook users. They asked half of the group to stop using Facebook for a week.

People who stopped for the week reported improved concentration, as well as better mood and less wasted time.

Speaking specifically to concentration, this finding makes sense.  Most people are tethered to their cells and frequently check it at the first sign of boredom (which is often).  It’s no wonder that the average attention span for humans in the modern era has sunk to 8 seconds, which is equivalent to that of a goldfish!

It’s simple.  Begin to put the phone away for gradually longer periods of time and when browsing social media, keep it brief.  Your brain will thank you for it!
