Ayakwamizin ᐊᔭᑿᒥᓯᐣ (Anishininiimowin)

Aayaangwaamiziiwin (Anishinaabemowin)

Through ceremony, Wataynikaneyap Power was given the word “aayaakwaamiziiwin ” – the action to protect the people, lands, animals, and water by being cautious, careful, and respectful in all aspects of our work, and in our daily lives.  Aayaakwaamiziiwin is to be mindful of the consequences of our actions (wholistic view) and to always work on the Homelands in a respectful way. These are the natural laws and expected actions of the Anishinaabeg and Anishininiwag Peoples.

Implementation of Wataynikaneyap Power’s Health and Safety Program is a priority that aligns with the teaching of aayaakwaamiziiwin.
